A suicide, unholy visions, and a priest with a past all collide in a monastery in Romania, when an investigation turns darker than anyone could have imagined. The Nun is the latest instalment in the hit The Conjuring film series, starring Taissa Farmiga and Damián Bichir, directed by Corin Hardy.
A cloister in Romania is brought under the Vatican’s spotlight when a nun commits suicide. Determined to discover the cause of the act, officials of the church send the experienced Father Burke (Damián Bichir) to investigate, along with Sister Irene (Taissa Farmiga), a young nun on the verge of making her final vows.
Once the pair arrive at the monastery, it quickly becomes apparent that a malevolent force awaits them. Threatening their faiths, histories, and even their lives, the father and the nun must work together to combat the evil that lurks there, using the few resources at their disposal.
However, it quickly becomes apparent that the spirit residing in the monastery isn’t working alone, leaving the pair truly questioning whether they can challenge this force, or even escape an unthinkable doom.
The Nun is the latest spin-off in The Conjuring franchise, adding a new twisted tale of horror to the universe. Starring Taissa Farmiga (American Horror Story, The Bling Ring) as Sister Irene and Damián Bichir (The Hateful Eight, Alien: Covenant) as Father Burke. The film is directed by Corin Hardy (The Hollow) and based on a story by James Wan, the creator of The Conjuring universe.
